Vice President of the Photonics Research and Development Department at LGS Innovations
Dr. Linda Braun serves as Vice President of the Photonics Research and Development Department at LGS Innovations, and is responsible for approximately 40 scientists and engineers working on optical subsystems for communications, imaging, and sensing applications. Dr. Braun has worked with LGS Innovations heritage companies Lucent Technologies and Bell Labs since 1999. In 2000, she became Technical Manager of the Optical Component Reliability Group, and in 2009 she was promoted to the Director of the Photonics Applications and Development Department. Throughout her career, she has served as the program manager for both industrial and government contracts valued at more than $70 million.
Dr. Braun began her professional career in 1990 with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD, working on the reliability of brittle materials. In 1998, she became a Group Leader, responsible for directing research and development in materials and component reliability.
Dr. Braun obtained her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from the College of Engineering at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She has authored more than 30 technical publications and holds two patents.
